Downton Abby at Biltmore, Visit and tatting

The Biltmore in North Carolina and a view of the beautiful dresses right before the last seasons episode of Downton Abby on my television in the USA.
My tatting work for this round of Renulek  doily, so you can see how good this lace displays at the Biltmore.

This is my daughter holding up a Downton Abby apron.

This is one dress I could take a picture of, the others from the show where in the house, and pictures were not allowed :(  The giant stables were turned into a gift shops.

a toy store, notice "the dish that ran away with the spoon"

Hey diddle diddle

I did finally finish this round at home today and I choose all grey.
This round of the baby bonnet went fast and had to leave four repeats off, for the neck to start.

All the dresses were wonderful and had a great time with my eldest daughter.  Now waiting for the next Year of  Downton Abby
I think some of the show may be filmed from here!

  1. I'm in love with that gray round! Beautiful colors and so dainty. I will remember those colors when I'm making doilies. I would never think to put those colors together, but it looks great!

  3. How nice that a display of the dress used in the filming of Downton Abby, it will be back here in the autumn I think. We are far advanced to you and the 5th series finished just before Christmas plus we had a Christmas special. I did see one dee that had some tatting on, but I can't remember who was wearing it.
Your Renulks mat is looking lovely, the colours are unusual and look beautiful together.
    Your baby cap look lovely

  5. I would love to see a Downton Abbey display! The gray is perfect on the doily, not a color I would have thought of using... something to keep in mind!

    1. Yes, I like it too, I figured that grey was a neutral color and would work for that reason but Handy hands has two more shades and I think this is the middle one.

  11. I used to live in Baltimore Maryland over 20 years ago and love it and one of my children was born there. I am glad you saw something new it was a home of one of the richest men in our country long ago and this is the name they gave it the last name or surname of the man was Vanderbuilt they slowly lost there fortune but no one has money to keep up the house so they charge the public to see the grandeur.
