Summer Thistles In Lace

An old favorite from "Mastering Tatting"
What is it about this little untouchable flower that people just love?

Was going to make picots  fuzzy and when I pined it out I kind of liked it so left it.  I want to make coasters some day.

I made the first inside of ovals larger and now I just making them all that way. The next two rows fit fine so I decided to go with it.
Hope I don't regret this on last row.

Now 6 ovals are attached and 6 more to make and attach. I enjoy this pattern called "Corona" by Ben Fikkert

  1. Wow or, that is some amazing doily! Those ovals are mini works of art in themselves!

  2. Ditto on the Wow, Spectacular doily. Too complex for me but I love watching it grow.

  4. Lovely little flower! The doily is beautiful, the center of those ovals is challenging, isn't it, 12 are an adventure! Brava!

  5. The thistle is pretty, even if it is a weed, so no wonder people like it. At least your tatted version is not prickly, it's lovely. Yes, wow to your doily, it's looking fantastic.

  7. Interesting way to approach the motifs. I have one more to add on to the rest and then on to the small ones.... If I have the fortitude. I'm not finding it fun now and am renaming it Killer Corona!
