Test Tatting My First Time

Robin at Tatting by the bay is letting me give a snowflake a  whirl she really didn't have too :) Muskaan is right, she is such a perfectionist I can't find any problems, she even picked one I liked, but I like them all so maybe that doesn't count :)

above is size 40 and I love it
I like the lighting with this and I was playing round with colors.

Different lighting and this thread is perfect in every way except it is very small.

When finished, measured the size and realized this is size 100.  I am glad Robin mentions thread and gives you an idea of the finished size, this in her patterns, it is a brilliant  thing to mention
for so many reasons.

  2. It looks lovely! I agree, I love when the creator of a pattern lets us know approximately how big things will be depending on the size of the thread!

    1. Yes some gifts I make have to be a certain size for certain envelops and frames and so forth. It is nice to have that worked out before you start.

  3. The coloured one looks Gorgeous ! A snowflake-flower hybrid :-) Always good to play with colours, whether one is a granny or a grandchild ;-P
Looking forward to Robin's other snowflakes showing up ...

    1. Yes I like to make and view what combinations people come up with and because it is lace, what it is going to lay against makes a difference too!

  4. I've been going over this pattern myself, and realized today that Round 2 was a little too tight for my liking. I'm trying out a version with an extra stitch on the Round 2 chains which gives it a little more room for differing tensions. The perfectionist in me strikes again...

    1. Well I like it the way it is it lays flat and I put stiffener in the white one for the last picture. with too long of a chain I wouldn't want the rings to be too loose.
