Doilies Update

I have this one on "back burner" as they say.

The rings are 7 picots with 2 double stitches in between and ( all connecting picots are at the 4th one)
So you start by making a ring and connect to middle top picot of last round and close ring then make chain of 4 picots
separated by 6 double stitches, then  start a ring and connect to first picot of chain, finish close ring. chain 6 This completes the sequence and you start at beginning go all way round.

I have a great surprise in store for next round, but it's in my mind, will have to see if it works out :)

Below is the famous spring doily that is all Renulek's design .
Loved making this round and it is a pretty look too
Now on to the next round.

  4. Do you mind if I ask you how you would stiffen a bit of tatting, I have a butterfly that I made a while ago and am thinking of putting it on my next picture but I want it to be with the wings standing up. any ideas?

    1. I would take waxed or parchment paper, used in cooking and find the shape you need, with a book opened (center part) or a Styrofoam with the shape you need, or even a stuffed animal. Then then set the paper in, secure it, and then use the "stiffy" product, or the white craft glue mixed with water then dip and squeeze with lightly moisten paper towel and set butterfly in an you can use stick pins to secure it while dries. depends on how open you want the wings.
      Hopefully this helps.

  5. "back burner" ... looks like a phrasal-verb, right?
I`m just curious what does it mean? :-)

    1. Well in life we all have many things to do and or problems to fix. So when you start to fix or make something you only go so far and see if the person is okay with your new idea and let them think about it. Or, if it is a doily you make just couple rounds and then think on the color or shape and wait a while to think on it.
This is like cooking and we have 4 burners we set the pots on when making a meal, as you know you make something an simmer it on the "back burner" to cook while while you start another part of the dinner meal. So if you put something or someone on the "back burner" you are waiting and will go back to it or the person :) hopefully I didn't confuse you with the answer :)
