The Tatted Artisty of Teiko Fujito, (Pansies)

A bright idea, I thought I would add beads but think I over did it !

I even counted out beads and used 2 different sizes but feel it was too much :(

Then I realized that the light purple was an 80, when the other was 40 size thread ooops.

This does need pinning out but kind of like the natural look and wanting to move on to the next pattern too.

Here with a black background. I might stick to just her patterns and not get any bright ideas.

  1. Funny how we change as tatters as the years go by.

I too used to be smitten with beads. I seemed to use them on everything and other tatters even associated my tatting with the addition of beads.

Now, however, since I got to liking #80 thread and large patterns, I have stepped away from any ornamentation and hardly ever use beads anymore. Seems to be a new phase. I am much more intrigued these days by the stitches and the tatting itself... We’ll see how long that lasts!

I think, except for the outermost 3-bead triangles, everything else is in sync.:-)

  4. I love your beaded pansy! There is a time for all things, and this beaded version would make a lovely brooch.

  6. Generally beads seem to go better with size 20 thread, although there are of course the odd exceptions. I think your pansy can take the beads but it seems to spoil the delicateness of it. Gosh you must have spent ages sorting out those beads too, but as suggested it will look fine sewn on to something.
    it.

  9. Lovely project, I like your idea, perhaps size 20 might be better with less beads just a few around the Pansy
