She has been very patience waiting on me, My little Blackbeary :) Oh yea and my husband in the background. |
And that is a little smirk I see, we are getting closer to those little black animals that adorn the bottom, and almost last round of "Under The African Sky" by Jane McLellan |
here I am becoming a pro at this interlocking rings thing. I think I do this a little differently but it works. |
Some one went to tat days and I couldn't wait till she got back so I started this one shuttle pattern with out her. Her Blog click here! It is done with one shuttle and it's just rings, It is like a spiders web in size 50. this is step one. |
and how you start round two |
the next round gets confusing, so I added water and pinned out and let dry so it wont twist up! |
Now on to next round. Hope this turns out! |
Both doilies are looking awesome!!! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful doilies.
ReplyDeleteSecond one, in this stage looks like a snowflake.
yea, I was thinking the same thing!
DeleteBeautiful! I can imagine the second one with beads, it'd be nice, too. Great tatting.
ReplyDeleteThis doily reminds me of the blog of "tatting All Over The Place" and she does one like this and she added a few tiny beads I loved that. I was thinking of her while working on this.
DeleteI chuckled when I saw the doily resting on the dog! None of the dogs we've had would have ever been patient enough for that. Blackberry does make an adorable background for a lovely doily!
ReplyDeleteShe is very calm at times and can sit with you and watch an entire movie or watch you tat for a long time and her fur does seem to display my items so well, she lets me take many pictures as long as you scratch the belly :)
ReplyDeleteLooking really good Carollyn! I'm glad you found a method that works for you. I love the bottom doily too. I had a look at the link, it's going to be wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jane means a lot coming from you, since you designed this!
DeleteBlack Beary seems to be aware of the importance of the moment! She is going the yhe lane of fame of tattiing history!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with THAT second doily! You surely know how to choose them!!
that is funny, she is very hard to photograph cause she is so dark, but it sure works for tatting :)
DeleteLove the delicate look of the piece in the last photo. Reminds me of Queen Annes Lace flowers.
ReplyDeleteYes it really does to me too, to where I almost felt bad that I didn't do the center red! and the ecru white!
DeleteYour little dog is so cute! Gorgeous-gorgeous doily you've got going.
ReplyDeleteshe reminded me of one of your dogs! :) thank you!
ReplyDeleteOh my, love this design! So delicate. Love your wooden shuttle. Are they difficult to learn to use? I have been tatting a year now and only have used the plastic ones. Your tatting is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love and learned on the little plastic shuttles, I then started many projects and bought different kinds of shuttles and when the size of the shuttle even when it is the plastic(with out the bobbin) I feel I do have to adjust my motion, and takes a little bit to remember this then I started making different kinds. and the little rabbit seems to work for me because I like how it doesn't unwind when dropped and the where the thread is loaded on doesn't catch while making the shuttle motion during tatting. I still think it is fun to collect different kinds and I try them all and keep most of them loaded but not over loaded with different colors just for those creative moments :)
