I decided to make Jane McLellan's "Under The African Sky" doily and need to practice my connecting rings, I even broke a thread. |
I was sent this splendid picture by Ninetta called "Unripened Strawberry" she mentioned this technique might also make a good cacti, I think she is on to something :) She has a wonderful blog and patterns too, found here! |
Das ist ja wieder eine fleissarbeit: Es sieht so filigran aus. Wunderschön .
ReplyDeleteGanz liebe Grüsse Marlies
Thank You Marlies
DeleteLooking good and I am looking forward to seeing your mat.

I am excited and I keep changing the colors!
DeleteLooking good, as Margaret said. I love the image of your doggy watching you as you excitedly get it right!
ReplyDeleteShe is hard to photograph she is mostly black but she is the sweetest and lovey dog she lays on my lap and I spend lots of time pulling the hairs out of my tatting!
DeleteGood luck with the connecting rings, admire your patience.
ReplyDeleteThat unripened strawberry picture that you were sent looks so clever
Well thank you, I find this very fiddly and there is only other pattern I got long ago and never completed it cause the rings didn't look that great, but after this there will be no stopping me!
DeleteThank you. Me too, I need to practise interlocking rings, but in that doily there are a lot! The right pattern, then! :))
ReplyDeleteI know, I just thought it was the one in the middle and then I see that I will be really good at this when done with doily. I may rename this for her and call it interlocking ring practice ha ha ha!
DeleteHello Carolyn. I love your strawberry pouch and would love to buy the pattern. My email address is leetravis@charter.net. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I live about 45 minutes away from you, in Morristown.
Oh Wow, that is great now I know 2 people in my state that tats! I just tried to send you and email and they said it did not work is there a space that is missing? My email is tennbrown then the at symbol then gmail.com all together. I will remove our contact stuff after I find it working :)
DeleteI've worked connecting rings in crochet but never in tatting. something for me to try.

I have herd some people say that it works better with needle tatting.
DeleteIt is not easy to live under an African sky. It is not what the travel agencies show. Live is hard out there. Rightfully so, tatting it should also be hard.
ReplyDeleteThat is true! and I think of many people and there life when I looked up the colors.
DeleteLooks like a really good try on those interlocking rings!!! :)
ReplyDeleteNice unripened strawberry too!!! :) I like the little motif to the right of it in the picture too!!! :)
Yes that is in Nintta's blog too, she is very talented, her blog is worth a look see! :)
ReplyDeleteBoa noite minha amiga que lindo trabalho ,adorei o morango.

ReplyDeleteTatting on a biscotti! Great idea. I have cross stitched a few, but never thought of sewing on a tatted motif. Fantastic.
