This beautiful thread and thread winders are from a place in france called Sajou I have yet to try just got it today! they have a little on line museum too. |
This center ring is made with one shuttle tatting found in an old booklet, I will try and find the book and name I have forgotten for now. |
this is more of a close up of the ring. Have a wonderful weekend and now I must try something for Easter! |
Can't wait to see the pretty tatting from those threads!!! :) Great experimenting!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks I have so many ideas.
DeleteI hunted down this brand in Paris, especially the Sajou scissors. Everything was very, very expensive! I bought some tapestry needles, and that was it!
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to give us a report on how that thread tats up, and the weight etc.
Yes I just tatted a tiny bit and that is size 80 I bought also for cotton thread it is very silky smoothe. It was an anniversary present ( I picked out :) myself).
ReplyDeleteSomewhere they commented on the thread they said it was equal to size 80 DMC so they were right on that.
Enjoy your parcel (and your anniversary!). Yes, some interesting effects can be achieved with one shuttle, I look forward to seeing more of your experiments.
ReplyDeleteThank You Jane can't wait !
DeleteIt's amazing how many items you can tat with one shuttle,
ReplyDeleteYes I have had a look at the shop they are expensive will have another good look at it.
Hope you enjoy your goodies
Margaret
I will they are costly, (only consider them as a treat) I also really wanted the thread winders, they are well made and fun to collect too.
DeleteHappy experimenting with your new threads! What fun.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I will try :)
DeleteLove the single-shuttle tatting you've done ! Gossamer effect :-)
ReplyDeleteCarollyn, would you take pics on how to use those thread winders ? Never seen or used anything like that before ...they look more like coasters or some kind of game ;-P
Happy anniversary & looking forward to more wonderful lace from those threads & your creative imagination :-)
Thank you sure I put some in the next post :)
