I hope it works when adding the final edge or this doily, for the reason of making the stitches a bit loose. |
As you can see here on center round of motif "D" |
I have only done two out of 12 done of motif "C" but I could not stand wondering what it would look like, I began this one. Fox and UMI have so much more done and I just wanted to see for myself so I jumped ahead :) |
I will improve on the mignonette work but will still use this one. |
I am trying to capture the color in this picture. The one that looks white is really a pale lavender. |
I hope it works out, too. It does look nice when done :-)
ReplyDeleteyes it has ability to flex a bit with the one shuttle stuff so I am counting on this :)
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed seeing the completed motif. I do believe you have saved me from HOURS of trying to figure out how to tat it! Thanks. : ))
ReplyDeleteFor once I can do you a favor, beware on the sides there are three picots in between and at the ends there are 2 picots in between leaving three mignonettes rings attached on the ends and two on the sides, hopefully that make sense :)
DeleteThat is lovely but it looks challenging! Well done!
ReplyDeleteThanks I think he reflects Anne Orr with his tatting don't you think?
DeleteI do, I thought that when I first saw it but I've never tatted one of his patterns nor I've ever seen one before. How old are these patterns?
DeleteOh he lives in the Netherlands and this book is 1997 (first addition) so he came along much later than Anne.
DeleteThank you so much Carollyn, I googled and found his site. There's a lot of beautiful tatting
DeleteLooking lovely, looks fiddly but looking good work. Like your colour combo you are using
ReplyDeleteMargaret

Thanks I think I look at it too much and then can't see the color :)
ReplyDeleteMe encanta el aspecto tan delicado que tiene.
ReplyDeleteLooks great!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty motif. I love the colors you have chosen.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lilas:)
DeleteThis is so dainty and very pretty in the colours you've chosen. I find mignonettes challenging. Yours look good.
ReplyDeleteI agree and you can over think them and mess up your mind too :)
DeleteHi Carollyn,
ReplyDeleteThe ovals are so pretty. Sweet colours too.
Thanks Umi This doily is very different than most.
DeletePrima gemacht, mir gefällt das Oval und auch die Farben sehr gut.lavendel in verschieden Tönen ist sehr schön. Bin gespannt, wie die Fortsetzung ist.
ReplyDeleteThank you I thought to see it all together would be a post for another day :)
ReplyDeleteSo pretty, but it looks so difficult to get even! Great work.
ReplyDeletethe mignonettes have a stretch to them and can slide, so there is adjustment that can be made.
