I do calligraphy and a little girl wrote this poem, I made this for a gift to her :) |
I love that snowflake! I'm not so much for buttons usually but that is lovely! Your calligraphy is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, I am intrigued with the button too. and have used the tiny collar button and size 80 too it is fun.
DeleteWhat a lovely snowflake ! <3 The button is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteThanks I really had fun with this one.
DeleteBeautiful snowflake - and calligraphy. What a thoughtful gift :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, I think Calligraphy is becoming a lost art to no need for penmanship any more.
DeleteBeautiful snowflake and calligraphy! You are very talented!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Thank You Ellen :)
DeleteVery pretty :-) Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sentiments & artwork - the little girl will be thrilled !
I gave it to her she seem to be very happy!
ReplyDeleteLovely! I think the button would also add a little weight to make it hang well.
ReplyDeleteyes it does!
DeleteLovely snowflake. And the net? There's stiches that are very different from what I'm doing, it's worth investigating...
ReplyDeleteYou know I will post a close up, I look at it all the time and don't know how to make that net, it looks like the flower petals are rounded it is very old some threads are broken but it is beautiful. I also noticed two size threads in the pattern too.
DeleteGorgeous snowflake, what size thread did you use for an ordinary shirt button, and your beautiful writing I wish I could write like that.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link to the pattern
Margaret
Thanks, It is 40 for regular shirt button.
DeleteYes it's very nice. The underneath filet lace (which looks antique), is beautiful too.
ReplyDeleteYes I love it too but do not know how to make it, Ninetta said same thing. I will post some close ups of this if it will help you and I see two different thread sizes, too!
DeleteYou have inspired me to look in my bottom box!
ReplyDeleteYour calligraphy is beautiful. Frivole practices calligraphy as well and maybe more tatters do as well. It is an art form I have always admired but never pursued. I wonder if, like tatting, it is not a lost art at all, just existing in smaller circles than once it did before. ??
I agree now computers do a great job I guess like machines making lace, but there is something about making it your self like lace that is just fun and beautiful! I had a time with it because the paper I bought is wrinkly and a bit hard to draw the letters on and the ink spread a bit!
ReplyDeleteFabulous snowflake!! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful work Carollyn! I love the botton in the center! Very nice!
