Renulek's Wreath First Attempt

When I first started her wreath I was ill, and the first round was not curving in to make a circle it stayed straight,
so I got an idea (after I figured out what I was doing wrong) to keep it straight.
and make corners for a frame.
The count is the same just added extra ring on her original pattern
found Here!

this is the front side of wreath and after soaking in glue and the ribbon too...

I stitched on back side, the broach pin the red ribbon bow helps to hide it.
Make small ribbon bows by tying  a bow as small as you can, and then keep pulling the ends, and tightening the knot till right size :) I shaped it after dipping it in glue and pinned to a board.

Have a great week and forgive me for not always spelling Renulek correctly, You have a wonderful blog and very talented :)

  1. Well at least the piece that was going wrong got used and not meet the bin.
    Nice frame for your picture.
Lovely wreath, great idea to make it into a brooch. She's done several wreaths this year but I have not had time to try them as yet
    Have a good week too

  4. Lovely frame! And how creative of you to be able to figure out a beautiful use for your work, instead of just scrapping it. I love your wreath, too. I've just started tatting and you are an inspiration!
I noticed a gorgeous butterfly in your site background photo. Is this your work? I would love to have a pattern link and any info you could give me regarding this beautiful creation - hoxieinca@gmail.com. Thank You!

    1. Oh that butterfly was a motif that was machine made and I encircled it with tatting if you look close, I have been collecting butterfly books and free patterns in tatting and plan on trying to make one like that I will let you know if any thing happens with this sceam of mine

  5. Pretty, and so delicate in the small thread. I just completed round 1 of the wreath last night. I also found that it was tatting in a near straight line despite following the stitch counts. Luckily, I was able to fix everything into place by blocking it with water.

    1. I did notice a bit of a curve, the second time around and did what you did and blocked it with water the second round makes it perfect.
I added a whole other ring and it was super straight, I forgot and should have mentioned blocking it, I thought I made to large picots in first round, good point!
