A year and a month to make! |
Two mistakes that were repaired last night |
The skipped picot was repaired with smaller thread slightly darker color. |
Oh yea this blunder too, excuse the dog hair :) |
This was cut and rings were undone to give me thread to work with! did this so many times I made a movie about it! |
Tatting over thread makes a thicker chain, not bad repair! |
this was size 40 thread lizbeth # 698 from Handy Hands measures in at 26 and 1/2 inches or 67.31cm |
It's a great day:) |

DeleteLate Jan Stawasz is very fameous in our country for "tatting people", good to know thet on the other countries too :-D
ReplyDeleteYes he is famous all over the world :)
DeleteWow! I love both your doilies. I'm currently on Round XI of the Jan Stawasz Big Doily. You say that the Ben Fikkert Corona Doily is easier? That gives me courage - it's also on my list!
ReplyDeleteYes, Ben not bad at all, but have to understand his directions, and think on them before working them. That is the hardest part really :)
DeleteOkay, thanks. I WILL get to that doily sometime!
DeleteSo beautiful!! Do you remember how many balls of thread you used to complete the Jan Stawasz doily?
ReplyDeleteWow good question i ordered like 12 and made lots of mistakes and cut them out too. I am thinking i actually used 9 i think cause i had some left over, sorry i wish i could remember better.
DeleteGorgeous doiley.....curious, did you frame it, love to see a photo if you did....beautiful job!!
ReplyDeleteYour monster doily is super. May I know how to get the instructions please? Any source or links please
ReplyDeleteThis doily is published in Moje Robotki 8/2007 (I think). But it’s sll but impossible to order anything from their website if you’re overseas. So, try inquiring with MaryankaShop on Etsy.com. Maryanka is located in Poland, where Moje Robotki is published. Last I looked, she didn’t have the pattern for this particular doily. But she does have lots of Jan Stawasz patterns published in other issues of Moje Robotki.
ReplyDeleteI also think craft tree my have it if you join there sight
ReplyDeleteI started a thread in Craftree in case anyone who had finished the Big Doily wanted to sell their copy of the Moje Robotki magazine with the pattern. Unfortunately, despite many inquiries, only one person has so far been willing to do that. :-/
