Since it is Halloween today, this odd looking bird woman is from Russian folklore, and I like the meaning.

Doily and Lucy updates

Working on the final round.

The blue is so brilliant and from Handy hands, the Yellow and green is from Sajou (Haberdashery)
this is very expensive, size 80 but I think is more like 100 size, is the very nicest cotton,thread I have ever tatted with it is so soft and silky making tatting fun, no twisting too.

I could have been a lot further but changed color three times, below is a repeat of other colors and it just didn't look right even though I love this blue.

This reminds me of  lots of wonderful patterns made with this split rings like the 24 snowflakes one.

Eclectus Parrot Beading Finished!

I don't know why I took so long to finish her, she is large though, just under 4 by 6 inches.

I did enjoy making her.  In background is another motif from the "Tatting With Your Life" book. was not as thrilled with this one, just didn't seem to tat up quite like I wanted, but looks good for bird background :)  Yellow lighting here.

I enjoyed adding the buttons and some are new and some are antiques.  She was designed from a picture of customers lovely loved bird Lucy I have the construction and picture of actual bird under August 20, 2016.
I was sad to see her mailed off cause " I love Lucy" :)
 

A Closer Look Tatting

Well here is better picture and mistakes were made on cluny round this is size 80  I was playing around with how I wanted to attach them to the long picots and also one has too many clunies I also would day dream and so some have 19 back and forth and some have 23 or so :) I am going to add more rows and it seem to be square enough  for now

Yes I use these for coasters and all the time :)
