Scarlet O'Hara Tatted Lace Too!

Gone With the Wind
Any woman born in American between 1940 and 1980 has seen this move multiple times.
At least that's my personal opinion.
I know I made several mistakes with this TIAS but when done (thanks Jane), I could not think of any thing else, for I live in the south and by several battlefields and have personally visited most all from the great Civil
War that almost divided a nation and freed slaves  fought brother against bother and so on , I had to make her place her hand on her mouth.
This is a 1940's movie that actually references tatting miles of lace with her friends, and is from a book that wrote about a time during the civil war 1061 to 1865.
I did write down a couple of famous quotes from the movie that I have said or herd on many occasions.

Below is a bit of a late Start on the newest spring doily from Renulek's Blogspot and I hope you all will enjoy her latest get pattern by clicking on her name above.

The dishes are a favorite I bought at a lovely little store called "Tuesday Morning" and I love them and they reminded me of a friends blog that Crochets and has recipes and tips, I told her that I have some bowels that match her cups, but upon further inspection I see they are not but close and super pretty her blog is called Scottys-Place
She lives in a beautiful place too :)

And I received these beautiful shuttles from Veronica from St. Petersburg Russia they are  larger  I only own one shuttle larger that this and I can actually tat with them and I have small hands too :) I do enjoy different kinds of shuttles and yes I find it fun to adapt to each one. I did get tired of winding these though and I have tons of thread on there and feel I could make the whole doily without loading the shuttles again.
Lets see how far get with these "puppies"

I actually have many tatting projects and less time these last couple months and I have made progress on the Rose and Thistle doily just need more free tatting time :)
Sorry I was printed so many words  with this post It wont happen too much more :)

Remember

tat miles with your friends :)
and

  6. Gone With the Wind is one of my favorite books and movies! I've often wondered what pattern Scarlet tatted! :-)

I also own some of those beautiful painted shuttles, and they do hold a ton of thread... perfect for larger projects!

I purchased Renulek's 2017 doily so that I would have a condensed version for my pattern files. I haven't started it yet... too many irons in the fire!

I love your Thistle Doily! I would love to tat it some day.

    1. Oh I see understand what you mean about Renulek's doily, I watched as others worked the doily for a couple years then I decided to try it. I enjoyed the wait cause I did other things. And posting what I did actually helped me complete it. I noticed Renulek mention the struggle for good thread. Maybe I can send you some what size do you like? My email is tennbrown@gmail.com ๐Ÿ’Ÿ

    I'm surprised Scarlet could tat - fiddle-dee-dee!
Your work is wonderful and I'm full of admiration for anyone who can tat. I've tried and tried to learn to crochet - but I always get in a dreadful mess haha!
Thank you for popping to my blog.
