Some how I had to work in My Peony that bloomed in all the rain |
I do love this book and thought I would start another doily some time and the ecru is size 80 or 100 and the purple is size forty. |
I am thinking is I should make several of different colors or keep all the motifs the same. This is why I started the Dandelion doily because I am unsure of the colors to use on this one. |
Wow! that ASPARAGUS! (might be a good tangle!)
ReplyDeleteYour Peony is so pretty...
I don't get very many but I love themπππ
DeleteI thought I recognised the motif. Perfect next to the pretty peony. And the other one, splendid with multiple motifs.
ReplyDeleteYes you have done that oneπ it is a favorite of mineπππ
DeleteGorgeous, gorgeous peony! I love them and the color of this one is amazing! Does it smell as nice as the old fashioned pink ones!
ReplyDeleteYes that is the other favorite things about peonies is the smellπππ
DeleteThat purple motif is stunning!!! :) I love it!!!
ReplyDeleteIf you are planning on making it a doily, a thought might be to reverse the colors, and then choose which one to put in the center, and which to put on the outside. Either way, It's already gorgeous so I can't wait to see what you decide!! :)
That's a great idea I will try that thanks I wanted suggestions πππ
DeleteSo pretty, putting it on the flower.

Yea I make you look at the flower with the tatting πππ
DeleteLovely tatting, and the peony makes the perfect backdrop. My one lonely asparagus hasn't come up yet, and we won't get to mulching until after Mother's Day. Dave's work will slow down by then, and I won't be able to get him to come in except for meals! :-)
ReplyDeleteAhhh but I think your weather is tad colder so that should be fine πππ
DeleteWhat beauty! Pretty tatting!
ReplyDeleteAlways want to entertain with tatting πππ
DeleteSono stupendi, brava!
ReplyDeleteπππthank you πππ
DeleteSuch Beauty !!! Natural and laced :-)
ReplyDeleteI like Sue's idea of interchanging colours.
My own, if you want a playful doily, is to have different colours in same tone, but keep the white consistent throughout. Kind of like crochet afghans with lots of colours ?
Okay but really that is not while it is a light lavender that is not showing up well so maybe I should keep this through out?
DeleteOh, I see.
DeleteWhen I think about it, I wonder what is the effect you are after. Do you want the motifs to show up as 'individual flowers' or as a unified fabric ?
For a unified fabric, you should follow the same colour scheme throughout, or follow Sue's suggestion.
If it the former and you want each flower to 'pop out', then you could make them in different colours, but follow the light-dark combo you used here.
Peonies come in different colours, right ? So you could choose shades accordingly.
Just my 2-pence.
You always do a wonderful job :-)))
Lovely tatting and garden. Spring isn't quite here yet, my peonies are just poking through the soil.
ReplyDeleteOh that is what is happening to Diane and must be slight spring zone than you. although I go on walks and the irises on two streets over have bloomed but mine are not ready for that they may need another week, I wonder if it the sunlight cause of the trees or something like that!
DeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you MarjaπΉππΉ
ReplyDeleteSorry it's a late comment been away to Sheffield re my eye.
ReplyDeleteLove the doilies
Asparagus when I had my flower shop in the summer we would buy the foliage for flower arrangements, makes good foliage and yours is looking very tempting from here. If is disappears it's me using it for my flowers
I stared doing that with asparagus and its great, hope your eye is feeling better. π
ReplyDeleteThe eye does not feel too bad but the fluid is back again so we are back to injections every month for three months, not sure when they are starting,
DeleteWill say prayer for you πΉππΉ
ReplyDeleteYour purple and white motif is beautiful.
