Timing of a Snowflake?

I wondered how long to make a snowflake for me and wonder how long it may take you? I have timed each separate flake and they are different but the average looks like 2 hours for me.

This one is a star :)

I have joined the LandOfLaces 25 snowflake challenge, kind of late but will see what happens
and I just ran out of time to post on Sunday.
I am already breaking the rules.
Have a great day tatting away!

  1. These are my favorite kind of rule breaking! Gorgeous tatting! I with you, about two hours for most flakes.

  2. Such pretty snowflakes. Sometimes depends on whether a pattern is familiar or not. And avoiding mistakes definitely speeds things up.

  6. Hmmm... sometimes a couple of hours, sometimes a couple of days... it all depends on the size of the snowflake and how well I know the pattern!

  8. People always ask me how long it takes to craft certain projects and I never really keep track. I do know it takes me quite a bit longer the first time I do a pattern and that I'm usually much happier with my second and latter attempts, when I understand how everything is supposed to go together.

    1. Yes I totally get that. One other reason they asked me was we were also having a conversation about what to charge for an item and I still don't really know but the time spent is a place to start. But like you said the second time goes faster.

  9. Rarely timed myself, sometimes I only can take an estimated amount of time from the time I needed for one repetition. But I really do tat for my pleasure. Well, 50 days to xmas, I don't mean to hurry anyone (neither myself, lol) but you need one every 2 days!
