I used the translate to understand directions.
I love this pattern it wasn't hard and it was satisfying to do!
Only problem is staying clean can't fix supper and tat in white.
It's size 40 an when done will measure 10 and 1/2 inches about when done. |
Gorgeous! I love the white!
ReplyDeleteBoth doilies are beautiful. And I love the shuttles you are using, especially the ones with the white doily. Where did you get them?
ReplyDeleteThe shuttles in white doily where made by Chris and Erin at the shuttle shop at "The tatting form". Late couple times I checked the page was down and so not sure what happened to them.
DeleteLove the colour in the first one and really love that second doily. Beautiful.

ReplyDeleteLieben Gruß Cornelia
Both doilies are beautiful, I love tatting white, all I can say is I wash it when finished, if the item is large I give it a wash at the end of each round.

That's a good Idea, don't know why I didn't think of that! Thank you
DeleteThe teal is a wonderful colour! Lovely doily, as is the white one. Perhaps you could tat the doily again using one size of thread and see if it works out ok? 40 and 50 are not so different. Years ago, Anna Burda magazine had pieces using size 10 and size 80 thread, or something like that. Can give an interesting effect.
ReplyDeleteyes I was thinking about that they are close and in size and the it's the teal that was discontinued. I also have have that magazine I think it's flowers, isn't it? I did this once before with lizben thread around a pendent and used the same color it was a variegated size 20 and 40 I will post that later on.
ReplyDeleteDear Madtatter, this book by Gun Blomqvist and Elwy Persson is the very first book on tatting I ever had. My husband gave it to me for my birthday in 1982, but it is older that that. And it is still my favourite.. I Always admired the clover doily, but never made it. I have also seen many crosses in tatting booksn but the cross on 73 remains my favourite. They never say anything about the authors , but they may be scandinavian. Your clover doily is superb and shows a very steady hand!
ReplyDeleteOh thank you, I see I just checked it has a date of 1967 and then it mentions another publication (I think since I don't read German)of 1983. I am impressed with this book and I have several things marked to do. I picked this because of lack of picots, for a change and feel the only thing to be most careful on is the tension on the chains so every thing matches up nicely. I just looked at that cross and didn't notice that it also have very few picots the others are fluffyer hey that hubby is a keeper! what a nice guy to be so thoughtful!
ReplyDeleteI kept him! We are married 33 year today,...
DeleteI didn't know this and am kind of happy I have some Scandinavian in me. That must be why I liked it so much it is family! :)
