I was playing around trying to get this triangle shape. And I did draw this picture thought it would work as a background. |
Here it is in size 80 without the beads. I was able to make this continuous. |
Working on cluny flowers I don't like what the petals look like when they meet in the middle so I added the little Josephine knots |
Daughter wanted the baby's bracelet but in black and white, I took out extra double stitch in the black so it would fit close to white. |
This is a better look at it out flat. |
Very interesting. Triangle motifs are relatively uncommon, especially non-equilateral triangles. Yours looks a lot like the fairy's ear. The continuous row of them would make an unusual edging.
ReplyDeleteYour cluny flower is very pretty and goes perfectly with the text on the page. Are you planning to add some tatting to the illustrations, or just using them as a background for the photos?
DeleteThank you for the complement, I was thinking of adding the tatting to that page. Especially after your vote :)
We're obviously thinking along the same lines, I've been tatting a waterlily too! How amazing is that?
ReplyDeleteIt must be all your dragonfly's they need a home. Ha ha
DeleteNot only is your tatting beautiful, but your drawing and your calligraphy are amazing!
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you with all these computers now a days people don't have to worry about penmanship, no more teacher giving out gold stars for handwriting.
ReplyDeleteOh, what a nice way to start a week-end in beauty! You are very gifted, Carollyn, I am speechless!
ReplyDeleteI remember now what the 'European ' word is for Cluny leaves: 'point d'esprit'. Happy tatting!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds much better than cluny, I have struggled with how to pronounce this in English, and one of my videos on how to make them I am enunciate the word wrong, finally my husband said it's like George Clunney the actor. And that's still has no relationship to tatting. But I like this "point d'esprit" looks pretty and sounds better to me anyway! May be that why I couldn't find a book on this subject! Thanks for the Imformation!
ReplyDeleteLovely cluny flower, I like the way you used Josephine knots in the middle great idea, no one would know they did not meet up. Gorgeous bracelet I hope your daughter like it, well done on your pieces of tatting
