I found a spoon by Rodger aka Freedman and from this point my mind raced with tons of ideas, and made many of my own designs. My favorite is the pink one so far. |
This took one try and only two hours to make and then I shaped it on a real baby spoon to dry. |
Did the purple one with a Celtic look, from the leaf pattern a couple of posts ago. Shuttle was a gift from another blogger friend Chantel I love lily of the valley too, thanks again :) |
Amazing!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ninetta
DeleteWow, so original and creative!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jane
DeleteThose are so original and fabulous!!!!!!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much
DeleteGosh, these are Spectacular ! Is nothing safe from tatters now ;-P ?!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite is the gold one & the Celtic twists ;-)
Beautiful shuttle, too.
Thank again muskann!
DeleteVery neat! I've never seen a tatted spoon before. It looks like it would be tricky to design.
ReplyDeleteIs that an antique printer drawer? I use one myself to display my shuttles.
Yes, it is and I love it!
DeleteNever seen a tatted spoon how unusal and all of them different. The celtic one certainly looks like one of those wooden Welsh love spoons
ReplyDeleteOh yea you are right, there are so many designs to use, more endless possibilities!
DeleteReally cute spoons. My favorite is the gold one with the flower. What did you use to stiffen them?
ReplyDeleteWhite glue, thanks
DeleteThose are so pretty! How clever you are to make those up. I like them all! Very well done. I do like the pink one, but I like the blue too. I just can't pick one!
ReplyDeleteI know, I am having fun with them :)
ReplyDeleteLoce the gold one with the purple flowers.
ReplyDeleteOh thank you I bet you would make these way better than I :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a novel idea! Very cute, too. I, too, am having a hard time deciding which one I like the best - all of them are pretty cool!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I think looks better if you have more than one!
DeleteNot seen a tatted spoon before, your designs are lovely and as you say lots of possibilites for more. I look forward to seeing how many you make.
ReplyDeleteMargaret
I do plan to make more Margaret and even if I do the same spoons in a different color I think that would look good too.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing then, can I ask where you got the pattern from
DeleteMargaret
All The spoons where made up by me except for the blue one and that one I did just try to copy on my own from a man that does not have the free pattern available anymore.Below Kathy Niklewicz remembers him in a needle tatting club years ago, wonders where is he now.
Deletethose are super cool!
ReplyDeleteOh thanks Grace!
DeleteThe spoons are lovely, I can see them on a baby card too. Great display too. You must have wonderful dreams.
ReplyDeleteThankyou,Yes, I do see many things in my dreams, any if I don't sleep I just keep tatting :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful idea! I have always wanted to tat Rodger's spoon (and cup and saucer) but never got around to it (as they say). You have taken the spoon design to new 'heights', so to speak! Such clever designs and a great way to display them!
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised that some tatters haven't seen Rodger's spoon, which was made to go with his 3-D cup and saucer, published back in 2003 on the internet on a 'needle tatters' site, which unfortunately is now closed. I believe I do have the patterns for all three, but it would take a while for me to find them! Maybe one of the needle tatters has info about them. I'm also curious about Rodger himself, and his tatting history.
Well Thank You for the information I found his spoon on pintrest and when I went to the sight they had the cup only and some other things but that was it I did find other people talking about him but ran into a dead end. I did not know he was a needle tatter and that is very interesting thank you for sending in the information!
DeleteHe, Madtatter, this is a completely new design, a super good idea!!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, i like the way you treat tha lilly of the valley shuttle!
Thank you, I was wondering when you would stop by :) ha ha
