Now it's bath time! I finished it! the little iris is from Margaret |
This is size 80 and just some free style (playing) tatting going no where :) |
More playing with color and the leaves bend can be manipulated |
The leaves need support and proper tension and of course another round would help. I was trying to copy something I saw on that super cool web-sight " Best Clunies Ever," Hats off to this sight :) click on the above Best Clunies Ever, and make sure your sitting down! |
Discovering how to hide the changing colors mmmm. |
I just like this picture |
Wow, I can perceive the perfume, it's the charm of your perfect cluny! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, the picture needed more so perfume seem to work.
DeleteYour soap cover is fabulous Carollyn! You're a cluny expert. I followed your link, thanks, really interesting work there, very inspiring.
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
DeleteDiese Arbeit ist richtig kostbar! Wunderschön!
ReplyDeleteThanks Cornelia
DeleteLove your soap cover!!! You did an awesome job!!! It's totally beautiful!!! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd your freestyling looks like it would make an awesome cluny pattern!!! :)
And I love the dual colored one a lot too!!! :)
Thanks I just worry about the bits of bright color that show through.
DeleteI LOVE the green tally leaves, bending so gracefully & naturally with that little leaf petiole !!! Oh dear, soooo much to learn still ... ( deeeeep sigh)
ReplyDeleteOh, forgot to mention that the flowers on that Russian site are Amazing ! Thanks for sharing the link -- very inspiring pieces & range.
Deletethank you, and that sight it very humbling to all, they are sooo good, they do the leaves separately a lot like using rick rack if you think on it.
DeleteYour clunys are beautiful and wow what, wonderful work, I hope one day I could do some of those beautiful pieces, I must learn how to do clunys, I have shied away from them,
ReplyDeleteThank you for showing my orchid pattern.
Margaret
Well I really like the tiny weaving and there are things I stay away from like that interlocking chain, mine looks bad :)
DeleteOh my I love the little tally soap holder. I have never made a cluny but some day Margaret and I will, I am sure of it. It is great to see tatting used in such lovely and practical ways.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bernice, I have a you tube video and I shorten the method a little and it is not as hard on my hand, but the link above show a perfect way to make them (scroll down a couple pictures) I did start using a clip board and then invented this other way. but to do a bunch in a row may try this it will make you happy! But only if interested in it :) Only try then if you want to must keep tatting a pleasure sport!
DeleteFollowed your link and wow! I have seen this once before but forgot how neat her patterns look. Makes me want to learn how to make clunies. I think you've got something with the pink and green version. Looks like you can easily represent leaves with the clunies and flowers with the regular tatting.
ReplyDeleteThanks Robin, I will go further into that pink and green one. I have ADD and jump around a lot. I so enjoy your post too and I can tell you are a perfectionist and enjoy how thorough your are love to learn things from you, and all my tatting blogging friends
DeleteHey what do you think about how you can see the bits of green through the pink you think that is okay? What is your opion?
DeleteI look at the overall piece, and the color blips aren't something that I notice until they are mentioned and I actively look for them. So, I think it is fine the way it is. I don't know anything about cluny tatting so not sure if there would be a way to eliminate them.
DeleteI stopped on the pink and green one because I made a mistake and if you look closely I started the leaf and should have started the chain, so I stopped and then got distracted with some thing else :)
I do not teach English, :) I use Google translate on any site that I do not understand. This can be done by "right clicking" beside foreign language and then click on translate page. Thank you and hope you understand this :)
DeleteYou are a start, Madtatter. I LOVE your Cunies and I am so proud that you know this stitch is called 'point d'esprit' in French. You make them neater and neater!! Remember to pronounce cluny like George's surname, Clooney!
ReplyDeleteYes, Elisa du Sud is a great lace maker, in every way, but I wonder what her pictures are doing on that Russian website?
I remember that she wrote a few years ago that she was tired of being copied. I hope this is OK.
