Tatting and Minature Blacksmithing?
Here is my latest round of the "Make it up as I go along". Directions below. It is 2 rings of 5 double stitches separated by 3 picots and a chain of 10 double stitches ,connect to previous chains picot and 10 double stitches, and repeat all way round.
My son gave this to me for Mothers Day, he is trying out "Miniature Blacksmithing" below are pictures of how he made this from a nail along with other works.
Your doily is looking lovely, I like his miniature sword, just need the miniature dragon, perhaps a Welsh dragon, The minature world of dolls houses would go mad for his sword, all things minature hold a high price. I should say happy Mother's Day, in the uk we have our Mother's Day in March, we like to be different from the rest of the world. Have a good day Margaret
My dad is a blacksmith too and he makes those little nail swords too!! My nieces and nephews love to bang on them and make their own as well. He gets these double head nails for theirs so it has a handle and guard built in.
The doily is looking great, and your son's work is impressive.

DeleteLove how your doily is developing. Wow, miniature blacksmithing sounds more fiddly than tatting. Good for him.
