That's interesting - never thought of doing it that way. I always go back and forwards through the middles of the stitches - back to front, front to back so that the tops all stay looking as they 'should'. Doesn't it pull the heads of the stitches out of shape when you whip them?
No, if you give them a tug as you go and if you enlarge the pictures it look fine, and look from a distance too. it is one the bottom right in the regular top photo and bottom left in the second one.
Very clear video. I do that in the same way (also with thread tangling in the same way :) ) but I have only one end to sew, for the core thread end I use the sssch method by Frivole.
Thank you for sharing! I always struggle with the ends so will be trying this out! Love the blue and white of the doily. I am also doing this one but, am waiting for more thread to arrive.
Firstly, your doily is gorgeous! Thank you for the video! I have done like Jane up d down but with the size it's been distorting. Now, I'll try this, I'm much more confident your way will work! Thank you!
I remember Ninetta sharing pics of her whiplash stitch, but keep forgetting to try it. Your video is very clear & I will definitely try it out. Thanks for sharing :-)
Oh I didn't hurry to make this till some one asked that was working with small thread cause the other methods work fine till the thread gets too small and then tatters not sure what to do. I have been watching some others and they cut and glue and that is very bad thing to do.

ReplyDeleteI am doing Renulek- śpring too. It is lovely, these colours white- blue are making its more attractive:)
ReplyDeleteI too like the blue and white, till I see everyone else's and then I like theirs better :)
DeleteNice little video! Just the way I do it.
ReplyDeleteRenukek looks great!
I was thinking you did when we were talking another blogger :)
DeleteGorgeous doily!!! :)

ReplyDeleteI have gotten so used to this way I feel I am faster at this way.

ReplyDeleteI like this but want to do other colors that the other bloggers are doing some are just beautiful and maybe this is a grass is always greener thing :)

ReplyDeleteLet me know how it turns out. Remember to pick loops at the top and if it comes apart give it a tug, and start with core thread.
DeleteLooks great, I am sure I have tried that way.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I see I can improve my whipstitching.
ReplyDeleteInteresting method to sew in the stitches. I will have to give it a try to see if it helps with the distortion that I usually get.
ReplyDeletePicking the little tiny loops at the top really helps and doesn't pull it apart!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your technique. I've never tried it that way. I guess I thought it would look too bulky. I can see that it isn't bulky at all!
ReplyDeleteIt's really not bad and leaves bumps like the double stitches do :)
DeleteSo delicate in those colours! Ways to hide ends are always welcome thanks.
ReplyDeleteStupendo, mi piacciono anche i colori!
ReplyDeleteThank You :)

DeleteI sew my ends in but I have not tried this way, must give it a try.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful start to the doilies.
