Memorial Day Brooch

This is my Pinchicks pick, and this week as our holiday weekend.
We remember those who have fallen serving our country.

So we could live free. This event opens our summer in the
U.S,A.
Below is the construction of this lovely Victorian Brooch.
And marks the time when holiday began, after our country's Civil War
in 1867

The first layer is rings and chains in a size 80 blue.

Second  layer is white size 40

The third is size 20 in red and all are directly tatted onto the bezel.
The Pinterest brooch had no layers.

You could take a little picture to place in bezel and glue it with a glass dome.
the Pinterest Brooches had little tatting in their ovals,
that were slightly stuffed like I did.

Hope You Have a Wonderful Family Weekend :)

Round 8 Frivolite and another Little Blue Bird

Round 8  of the of Renulek 2016 spring doily had a slight ruffle that needed to be pinned and sprayed with water.
Another bird, with sequins and beads.

Works with this little dress on my granddaughter :) you can kind of see it in her hair :)

There are lots of lovely sequins out there

I started off with this button like thing not sure what it is called :)

I hide all the stitches with more felt.

Did you notice I my order of beautiful thread from Yarnplayer came along with these to shuttles

this day turned out to be a good day for me!

Monochromatic tatted lace doily

I still have two more rounds to go.  The pattern is free on Instagram
look for "tattingweed", she has a couple of very nice free patterns.

This thread is large size 20 and feels thick.

For this style the thickness kind of grows on you :)

This is harder on my hands, so I have been taking breaks, want to make more but with smaller threads maybe :)
Have a wonderful Week :)

Loved this round, it tatted well and the little picots reminded me of eyelashes.
