It is doily #2 with Alenalea
The colors are Lizbeth from Handy Hands and it is number 115 Springtime and center green is called Leafy Green

"I'm A Little Tea Pot"

Words to the song kept going through my head as I was making this one.
I missed a friends birthday and made this card, and cup with chamomile tea bags in it.This tatting was worked on during the evenings during a conference I attended below.

Blacksmith Conference last week, I watched and learned about making knives and tools it was surprisingly fun :) pictures below.

This is a billit (several layers of medal)

Heat till yellow and smash it and fold it over.
TA DA you have a knife
Another class was tool making, and he is placing a hole in the metal.
The classes were done in a historical town in Tennessee and the forge was really being used.
I learned many things, and next field trip we go on will be a tatting one :)

"Garden of Versailles" from tatting lace Book called "Floriade"

This is what I have so far, the directions call for one shuttle and needle and thread (size 80).  I don't mind the needle and thread but found that long picots may better then tying a new thread on at this point, of the last round done.
Above is the close up where you can see he tied long threads and hopefully my long picots will work fine here we will see.
This doily has lots of small motifs and there for ends that need a secure finish.
(Oh yes I have all ready trimmed my mint back once already.)

this second round was done 3 times, as I realized where I need to make the long picots so less needle work.

This tiny round had plenty of tying time with needle and thread.

This, I think is Ben Fikkert's first Book, and where I found this present pattern.  The name of this book is called "Floriade"
Enjoy your weather and have a great Day!

Happy Mother's Day

I started a cute little doily called "Garden of Versailles"

My peonies really do bloom on Mothers Day :)

And so do the Irises this is second round and this won't take long to finish it is 6 and one half inches long, I think that is 17 centimeters long.
Have a lovely day for all women who give mothers Love, and help us all grow and bloom  :)

Ben Fikkert "Pinecones" completed by Carollyn Brown

I am very pleased and happy with out come 😀

I was worried  that this final row would not pin out well, it had a strange ruffle, as seen below.

Because I pinned the previous rows out all I needed was this small amount and just wetted edge with sponge.

I just finished last night, my tatting has slowed down, I have been spring planting and mowing my yard and
making bunny shuttles.
