Dandelion lace Doily Completed


This asparagus is great for displaying this doily cause it is just as light and airy.
Little tip about the background garden, an elderly lady taught me about silk flowers,  I have struggled with this weed tree thing and trimmed it back as well as I could, then I bought some silk flowers and stuck them on there till I figure out how to remove the this thing that appears to have roots to China.
So far the silk hasn't faded.

This pretty table sits outside and does look good on it so I may place the table back inside, dare I leave the doily out side? :)
I really enjoyed this doily and can see me making another one
It is weird cause I messed up the measurements on the length of the bare threads but it turned out nice and worked out any way I am still trying to figure out how it worked with out ruffling it up.

    Congrats on your doily. It is oh so pretty. I can see why you want to start another.
    As for the 'weed', I have turned my head a few times trying to figure out what flowering plant that was only to find artificial flowers. Yes, it makes a conversation piece.

    Pretty doily! Love it! It's beautiful on that table but I'd not leave it outside!! Lovely garden.

    Beautiful mat, It's so light and delicate, beautiful colours together.
    I love your idea of putting silk flowers great idea and you can change them to different colours during the summer just to confuse the neighbours.
    I love your comment about the roots, we say here in the UK and that if a bulb does not come up, it's flowering in Australia. Hope you can dig out the plant one day.

      I was wondering what you say in other countries when a plant's roots don't come up. I always herd my mom say that phrase and it is in some songs too. 😄 I was thinking of changing them out to confuse the neighbors, we think alike❤️😄❤️

      I think I would not only change the colours but the shape of the flower too, now that would confuse them more.
      It would keep the neighbours on their toes as to what you are going to do next.

    Your doily is stunning! My favorite picture is on the asparagus. The two look so light and airy! We have bird droppings all over the place here, so I would never leave a doily outside. I have a hard time leaving the plastic chairs outside!

    Oh wow I had a friend with that problem I had forgotten that could be a problem I know a man that put mothballs out to keep birds off the blueberry bushes and he says it works

    We cousins would sing a ditty and blow off the top of a dandelion! Your doily is equally light & airy, but would HATE to see it blown off/blown away ;-P

    Beautiful doily! I was thinking the same, that it is very airy, before I read your post. Your silk flowers are doing a wonderful job of dressing up that plant :)

    About your persistent weed: Dig a little hole near the roots,pour in a bottle of vinegar, and repeat once a week until the baddy is gone. That's the way I do it :-)Always successful.
