You see this was a romantic request from an older lady who's husband passed away and years ago had given her a card with these birds on it and he explained "If one can't toucan"
so I just had to make this shuttle and starting
on the second.
Hope your summer has been a good one!

Ingenious !!! Both the shuttle and the toucan motif !!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I got the pattern from a Japanese I think, lady that sells on etsy to it is beautiful but tricky and I really haven't finished it yet there is a centerpiece
DeleteGreat shuttle!!! :) Neat little saying!
ReplyDeleteI love your piece of tatting too!!! :)
Thanks so much, I feel that apply to tatting too😃
ReplyDeleteLove this shuttle and the romantic story! Beautiful motif!
ReplyDeleteThank you I wondered if people from other languages could understand how the bird's name has the same sound in it as the #2
ReplyDeleteYou and your husband are so clever when it comes to creating shuttles! I love the little toucan and the story that goes with it! Wasn't there a breakfast cereal that had a toucan on the box? I remember the saying from way back when!
ReplyDeleteI found it! It was Toucan Sam on Fruit Loops, a cereal that never appealed to me. I think my brother used to eat it.
ReplyDeleteI love froot loops even to this day ❤ that is what I thought of when first asked to make them. I actually debated posting the cereal picture in stead
ReplyDeleteBrilliant shuttle, unusual and unique
ReplyDeleteYes that is one of a kind😃
