The Scotish Thistle In Tatting Lace


I have been wanting to make a larger one than most patterns out there and so I am working on different patterns.
to Fray or not to Fray the thread?  
Using my strawberry pattern technique for the base worked.

Well I have plans and going to try to stitch it down but maybe I should have not frayed this thistle mmmm.!

    Wouldn't be a thistle if not frayed 😄 But if the fabric on which they will be sewed down needs frequent washing, may be fraying is not practical.

      It wont be sewn down, but was planning on placing it on a little bag that will go inside a purse. So it will be taken in and out so mmmmm.

    Love the frayed look for your thistle. It's beautiful and the 'strawberry' bottom works really well for it.

      Yes,a friend made a pineapple with one. And there are lots of nature things with that look or texture, I feel there are more ways to use that strawberry texture
